Is Jonathan eligible to Contest in 2015? Court Reserves Ruling

The Court of Appeal in Abuja, has reserved ruling in the application filed by a presidential aspirant on the platform of the PDP, Dr Umar Ardo, praying the court to allow him join in a pending appeal.

Mr. Cyriacus Njoku had filed an appeal challenging the judgement of Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi of the Abuja High Court, which dismissed his suit challenging Jonathan’s eligibility to re-contest in 2015.

Justice Oniyangi had in March 2013 declared that Jonathan is eligible to contest the 2015 election. Shortly after the judgement was delivered, Njoku went to Court of Appeal to challenge the judgement.
And now Dr. Umar Ardo, who was not a party in the suit at the Abuja High Court showed his intention to join in the suit at the Appeal Court on the grounds that he wants to contest the presidential election under the platform of the PDP.

But the president, through his counsel, Ade Okeaya-Inneh (SAN), opposed the application on the grounds that the applicant did not satisfy the provisions of Section 243 (1) (a) which stipulates the process of joining an appeal.

Ardo through his counsel, Dr Amuda Kannike (SAN), had told the court that he had been cleared thrice by the PDP to contest the governorship position of Adamawa State, to prepare himself to seek the highest office in the nation.

He said the decision of the Abuja High Court raised grave points of constitutional law and jurisprudence that is the first of its kind in Nigeria.

The appeal court in Abuja will be delivering its ruling on this all important issues anything soon.

Church Members Want To Kill Me ––Assemblies of God Senior Pastor Cries Out

The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Paul Emeka, has petitioned the IGP, Suleiman Abba, over the alleged threats on his life by the Rev. Chidi Okoroafor's faction.

A meeting of the church’s general council at its Evangel Camp, Okpoko in Ebonyi State, ended with Okoroafor announced as new general superintendent in place of Emeka, who was excommunicated and removed as the spiritual leader, with his pastoral certificate withdrawn.

However, Emeka, who is still in office at the church’s national headquarters in Enugu, on Wednesday said the Ebonyi general council meeting was illegal, and as such, its resolutions are null and void.
Reverend Emeka said, “They had sworn that they would do whatever they could to eject me, including a possible elimination of my life.

Addressing journalists alongside some executive council members at the church’s headquarters in Enugu, Rev. Emeka explained that there was no provision for excommunication and withdrawal of pastoral certificate in the laws and traditions of the Assemblies of God Church.
Stressing he remained the authentic general superintendent of the church, Emeka reversed the resolutions reached by the Okoroafor faction at the Ebonyi general council, including the suspension of some ministers of the church.
“I have already petitioned the IG on threat to my life by Chidi Okoroafor, Barrister Abuka, Prince Emeaba, G. O. Chukwu and the people they represent.

“It is very unfortunate that we had had the legitimate 35th General Council Meeting from October 23-24 at the National Headquarters of the Church in Enugu, but a faction of the church led by Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor went ahead to conduct another one in Okpoto from October 28-31.

“That duplication that occurred in Okpoto was illegal and flouted the constitution of the church and also the order of the court which ordered all of us to maintain status quo ante bellum.

“While I was re-elected during the legitimate council meeting in Enugu, that illegal duplication produced Rev. Chidi Okoroafor,” he insisted.

Obasanjo’s sudden Change from a ‘Confused’ Elder Statesman to the new 'Bride’

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who has recently been playing host to politicians from across the country, is now a beautiful bride whose support must be sought for parties hoping to win in 2015.

The popular aphorism that there is no permanent enemy in politics but permanent interest came to the fore recently as Nigeria’s politicians seemed to have shunned what social commentators described as politics of ideology in their pursuit of power. They have been variously demonstrating the dictum in their quest to woo major stakeholders in the country to support their respective course.

Nigeria’s politicians, majority of who are not known as promoters of any ideology, are always quick to use foul languages against perceived members of the opposition while pursuing their political interests, but will hire drums and other musical instruments to sing the praises of the opposition members when they are able to woo them to their parties.
The APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and President Goodluck Jonathan appeared to have swallowed their pride and what pundits considered as derogatory comments against former President Olusegun Obasanjo in their respective bid to seek the support of the ex-President ahead of the 2015 general elections.

While Tinubu had personally visited the ex-President, Jonathan was represented by Senate President David Mark and a strong team including Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan; the Peoples Democratic Party Women Leader, Mrs. Josephine Anenih; and Senator Polycarp Nwite, among others to discuss issues bordering on the future of the country.

Former Oyo State governor and a chieftain of the Accord Party, Rashidi Ladoja, also visited the former President the same day.

According to analysts, Obasanjo has now become a beautiful bride whose support must be sought for political parties to win the next election, but they seemed to have forgotten the various tirades they have hauled at the former President in the past.

Shortly after the merger of the ACN, the All Peoples Party of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressives Change and a section of the All Progressives Grand Alliance to form the APC, the party leaders had stormed Obasanjo’s residence to introduce the party to the former President.

The APC chieftains, who had described Obasanjo as a bad leader, suddenly turned themselves to praise singers as they hailed the former President as a great leader whose major concern was the development of the country.

Among the APC leaders that spoke at the Obasanjo’s residence was Tinubu. He described the former President as an elder statesman. He had hailed him thus, “You have come out of tribulation and held the highest position in this country. We are here because of your courage. Nobody can claim that he has information more than you. You have surmounted a number of crises.

“Nigeria is divided now more than before. To realise a stable Nigeria, we want to encourage you to continue to speak the truth. We are resolved and determined to rescue Nigeria, we want you as navigator.”

He added, “It is to be able to set Nigeria on the right path and for all men of goodwill to come together to rescue Nigeria. It is not a matter of wooing him.

“Yes, Obasanjo is a very unique person in his own way based upon the experience of life, tribulations one way or the other. He saw power, tribulations and then came back to power. If you want to grasp the life of this man from zero to grace, zero again and then to grace. And then you will see what you get in such a person.

“And you will need that wisdom not necessarily to join our partisan politics, but just to draw from the experience of an elder statesman.”

The leader of the team, Chief Bisi Akande, further demonstrated the APC’s bid to seek Obasanjo’s support when he expressed the party’s support for the former President’s 18-page letter to Jonathan.

Going down memory lane, however, analysts recalled that Tinubu had been one of Obasanjo’s greatest antagonists. Tinubu began his tirades against Obasanjo in the build-up to the 2003 general elections conducted by the then Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Dr. Abel Guobadia.

The APC chieftain, who was then the Lagos State governor, felt aggrieved by Obasanjo’s plot to get the backing of the South-West states. The former President, who needed the region to get the PDP’s ticket for a second term in office, began moves, including meeting with the then South-West governors to support his ambition, but fortunately for him, all the governors except Tinubu supported the former President’s ambition and as a result postponed the local government elections they had planned to conduct in their various states.

Pundits, however, believe that this major development set the stage for dispute between the two “foes.” Obasanjo needed the support of the South-West, but Tinubu, his “political foe” refused to back the former president while describing him as “a myopic bull in a crowded china shop.”

The former governor had at a meeting on July 5, 2003, boasted that Obasanjo could not win the battle alone without the support of the South-West states. He had insisted that the former President needed the PDP-AD alliance to succeed.

He also added that Obasanjo was in “deep trouble politically” as the former President was trying to assert PDP’s supremacy in the South-West and hurting his position within the PDP by allowing his relationship with his vice, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to drift.

Despite the fact that the defunct AD under which the South-West governors were elected had supported Obasanjo’s re-election bid, Tinubu had asked the former President to stop behaving autocratically.

“Obasanjo has to show he is willing to get out of his ivory tower and listen sometimes,” Tinubu had said.

Before then, the former Lagos State governor had blamed “Obasanjo’s woes on his inability to listen to independent advice and his lack of interpersonal skills.”

The APC chieftain had also described Obasanjo as someone who “has learnt the art of deception.”

Stressing that he could not trust the former President, Tinubu had said, “Anybody who has worn the uniform described as camouflage has learnt the art of deception and that is the way I see Obasanjo. He had meetings and meetings with the late MKO Abiola; I was with him, I believe four of us including, Dele Alake, and we ateamala and vegetable soup with hot pepper in Abiola’s house. Everybody was yawning, sweating and looking for water with MKO Abiola and Obasanjo behaving as if it was not as hot as we made it seem; behaving as if they had this deep understanding. Then, not up to two weeks after that, Obasanjo went away to Zimbabwe and announced from there that Abiola was not the messiah.

“Haba! After that, I developed that mistrust in him; I could not believe that a man could do that. Stand by some principles, stand by some integrity, stand transparently and honestly on matter of facts as you lead other people to believe you and support you as a key pillar.”

On the former President’s birthday, Tinubu had said, “I didn’t even remember his birthday. I opened the newspaper and saw it. There are many problems confronting us. I won’t blame anybody who doesn’t read my birthday greetings. I won’t blame them if they say they didn’t see it, there are many problems confronting the nation. There are many news items that are seriously more newsworthy than to be looking for Obasanjo’s congratulatory messages in the newspaper.

“A man who had great opportunity to put Nigeria on the right path and failed to do so; failed to do even the Ota road, not Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. What am I celebrating about him? That is the truth. He deceptively dealt with the country and he handed over to a man who he knew was ill. Obasanjo is a leader that could not find another successor capable of driving through his vision for the country.”

Tinubu’s ferocious criticism of Obasanjo became harsher during a speech at the presentation of a book titled: “Accidental Public Servant” written by a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir el- Rufai, while criticising Jonathan’s administration for its failure to provide good governance for Nigerians.

The APC chieftain had said, “The criminal third term enterprise of Obasanjo was being re-enacted by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.”

In the build-up to the 2011 general elections, Tinubu asked Nigerians not to vote for Jonathan, describing him as Obasanjo’s siamese twin and as such would misrule the country as the former President did.

Notwithstanding his claim that he and Obasanjo were friends, Tinubu had harsh words for the former President over the latter’s comment that the defunct ACN was crying foul over spilled milk after a governorship election in Kogi State.

Tinubu had said, “What integrity has Obasanjo in terms of his legacies for Nigeria to speak on elections? Apart from his aborted third term ambition, he brought about and left a legacy of electoral corruption in the country. What is Obasanjo talking about? He should go away and retire in shame politically. He should leave the political landscape of this country alone. He brought a whole salad of corruption, manipulation and failures.”

But Tinubu had recently returned to the earlier derided but now respected Obasanjo in Abeokuta to seek his opinion on some of the former President’s “old boys” who are currently seeking the APC presidential ticket for next year poll.

In a manner that showed that Tinubu had completely swallowed his earlier disparaging comments on Obasanjo, he praised the ex-President saying, “We are here to pay homage to our former President and discuss with him because he has a number of influences in the political sphere.

“We need to talk to him and find out his thinking about Nigeria and the future. We need to seek his observation on some of his former boys who are running for Presidency in our party.”

The PDP was also not left out in the race to seek Chief Obasanjo’s attention.

Mark, during the visit to him and Obasanjo’s residence some minutes after Tinubu had left the place, was said to have raised concern over the former President’s “unconcern attitude” towards PDP. He had expressed the belief that this might affect Jonathan’s re-election.

This development necessitated another move by the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, to seek Obasanjo’s forgiveness.

Mu’azu offered the apology on behalf of the party in Abuja while welcoming defectors from the Labour Party, led by former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, to the ruling party.

He said, “All of us must beg Obasanjo to forgive us. We need to beg him. He is very prayerful and we need to ask him to forgive us so that we can be forgiven. We are your children.”

“We have made mistakes and Baba, please forgive us. Come and lead us. We are your followers and we assure you that we are all good boys and girls. We have sinned. Baba please forgive us.”

It will be recalled that the robust relationship between Obasanjo and Jonathan snapped not long after the 2011 general elections. The breakdown of the relationship that could be described as that of father and son became glaring through exchange of open letters between them. The tone of the two letters, analysts said, left the impression of irreconcilable differences between both “combatants.”

Obasanjo, who felt that Jonathan had derailed from the expected path, quickly wrote a letter to him so as to return him to the path of honour. The former President had accused Jonathan, who he had supported to become the President, of training snipers for the purpose of unleashing terror against perceived political enemies and of allowing the PDP to slip in disarray, among others.

Twenty-one days after Obasanjo wrote him, Jonathan replied the former President and accused him of deliberate or inadvertently setting the stage for subversion. The President described Obasanjo’s letter as a threat to national security, adding that he had instructed security operatives to investigate all the allegations made the against him.

Jonathan accused Obasanjo of recommending policy he never implemented while in office as President, citing the Odi massacre during the administration of the former President as an example.

In Jonathan’s reply to Obasanjo, he had said, “More uncharitable persons may even see a touch of sanctimoniousness in your new belief in the carrot and stick approach to overcoming militancy and insurgency. You have always referred to how you hit Odi in Bayelsa State to curb militancy in the Niger Delta. If the invasion of Odi by the Army was the stick, I did not see the corresponding carrot. I was the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State then, and as I have always told you, the invasion of Odi did not solve any militancy problem but, to some extent, escalated it. If it had solved it, the late President Yar’Adua would not have had to come up with the amnesty programme. And while some elements of the problem may still be there, in general, the situation is reasonably better.”

Jonathan hit Obasanjo harder when he said that the former President’s administration was characterised by kidnapping.

He said, “In terms of general insecurity in the country and particularly the crisis in the Niger Delta, 2007 was one of the worst periods in our history. You will recall three incidents that happened in 2007, which seemed to have been orchestrated to achieve sinister objectives. Here in Abuja, a petrol tanker loaded with explosives was to be rammed into the Independent National Electoral Commission building. But luckily for the country, an electric pole stopped the tanker from hitting the INEC building. It is clear that this incident was meant to exploit the general sense of insecurity in the nation at the time to achieve the aim of stopping the 2007 elections. It is instructive that you, on a number of occasions, alluded to this fact.

“When that incident failed, an armed group invaded Yenagoa one evening with the intent to assassinate me. Luckily for me, they could not. They again attacked and bombed my country home on a night when I was expected in the village. Fortunately, as God would have it, I did not make the trip. I recall that immediately after both incidents, I got calls expressing the concern of Abuja. But Baba, you know that despite the apparent concern of Abuja, no single arrest was ever made. I was then the Governor of Bayelsa State and the PDP Vice-Presidential candidate. The security people ordinarily should have unravelled the assassination attempt on me.

“You also raised the issues of kidnapping, piracy and armed robbery. These are issues all Nigerians, including me are very concerned about. While we will continue to do our utmost best to reduce all forms of criminality to the barest minimum in our country, it is just as well to remind you that the first major case of kidnapping for ransom took place around 2006. And the Boko Haram crisis dates back to 2002. Goodluck Jonathan was not the President of the country then. Also, armed robbery started in this country immediately after the civil war and since then, it has been a problem to all succeeding governments. For a former Head of Government, who should know better, to present these problems as if they were creations of the Jonathan administration is most uncharitable.”

On his reply to Obasanjo’s allegation of training snipers, Jonathan said, “I don’t know where you got that from but you do me grave injustice in not only lending credence to such baseless rumours, but also publicising it. You mentioned God 17 times in your letter. Can you, as a Christian, hold the Bible and say that you truly believe this allegation? The allegation of training snipers to assassinate political opponents is particularly incomprehensible to me. Since I started my political career as a Deputy Governor, I have never been associated with any form of political violence. I have been a President for over three years now, with a lot of challenges and opposition mainly from the high and mighty. There have certainly been cases of political assassination since the advent of our Fourth Republic, but as you well know, none of them occurred under my leadership.”

Jonathan again flayed Obasanjo as he described him as a confused man and unstable in his views regarding government’s handling of the protracted Boko Haram insurgency.

Jonathan, who spoke through his spokesperson, Reuben Abati, was reacting to Obasanjo’s comment in a CNNinterview that the President had been deploying excessive force and exploring little or no dialogue in solving the Boko Haram problem.

“To deal with a group like that, you need a carrot and stick. The carrot is finding out how to reach out to them. When you try to reach out to them and they are not amenable to being reached out to, you have to use the stick,” Mr. Obasanjo reportedly said.

Concerned stakeholders, who appear not to be surprised by the new development, have expressed divergent opinions.

The founder of Oodua People’s Congress, Dr. Fredrick Fasehun, hailed Obasanjo for his large heart to receive the “characters” who thronged his residence for one favour or the other.

He said, “The former President is a senior statesman and these characters though they derided him in the past, they must have had some remorse which was why they visited him. I believe they must have believed that there is nothing they could achieve without his support, and that is why they went to see him.

“In the other way round, I see it as a mark of commendation for Obasanjo to have received them back. It depicted that they swallowed their pride. Nobody can be proud before Obasanjo. He holds a very crucial role in the politics of the country. I congratulate him for being patient with everyone and for being a groundbreaking man.”

The National Chairman of Labour Party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, said there was nothing wrong with the “new friendship” between Tinubu and Obasanjo, stating that everybody knew it was all about politics and the 2015 general elections.

He, however, said he would not be able to comment freely on the closed-door meeting between the two political leaders because he was not in attendance.

Nwanyanwu said, “If there was a communiqué issued in respect of the meeting, I would have been able to freely comment, but there is none. But actually, there is freedom of movement and speech in this era of democracy. Anybody can go to wherever they like to discuss issues. Everybody knows it is all about politics and elections. It was a closed-door meeting which no one heard what they discussed and I have no insinuations about that.

“Anybody can meet with the former president. You can say Tinubu and others went to visit him; very soon, you can also hear that Atiku Abubakar has visited also. No one is restricted from visiting him.”

But to a social commentator and poet, Mr. Odia Ofeimu, the closed-door meeting between Tinubu and Obasanjo was of no relevance to the future of Nigeria. He said there should be no restriction from visiting anyone in the country despite political differences.

He said, “The meeting has no relevance to anything; it has no impact on politics. Meanwhile, anyone can visit anyone anywhere, but there has to be a relevance of such to the future of Nigeria.

“Political differences should not determine how people relate in the country and anybody has the moral right to correct his mistakes and seek apology if they had had disagreements before whether in the secret or in the open.”

SEE the 1965 Benz Governor Fayose used for his Inauguration

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State is one unique man, no wonder my people in Ekiti always follow him, no matter what. I hear the governor turned the Government House that used to be a no-go-area for the ordinary people in Ekiti into an all comer home and the youths enjoyed themselves in the pool. Lol!
And the pic above is the special 1965 BENZ official car used in his swearing in ceremony on Thursday.

Meanwhile, The Workers in Ekiti State have Read the Riot Act to Governor Fayose
According to Punch, workers in Ekiti have read the riot act to their new governor, Ayodele Fayose, asking him to desist from actions that would further plunge the state into debt.

The workers warned Fayose against borrowing money to pay salaries, asking him to focus on issues that would enhance the development of the state. They also asked the governor to make workers’ welfare one of his administration’s priorities.

The workers, represented by Chairman, Trade Union Congress in the state, Mr. Kola Olaiya, and Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress in the state, Mr. Ayo Aluko, told Punch that Fayose would receive the support of relevant stakeholders if he tailored his administration’s priority towards issues that would engender the development of the state.

The union leaders said if he would borrow money at all, the money should be spent on viable projects that would generate income for the state.

Olaiya of TUC said, “One thing that can stand the governor out is for him to focus on the welfare of workers because when workers are paid as and when due, the problem of the informal sector will be solved as market women and the artisans will get money to trade. The new governor should not borrow money to pay the workers in his bid to please them.”

On his part, Olaiya of NLC said, “One thing I am sure of is that there are issues on ground that the new governor will look into. We are battling with salary arrears, deductions and other welfare packages. I believe those are the areas the governor will look into. It is now his prerogative to find what it takes to move the state forward.”

On the performance of former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Aluko said, “One thing I know is that one can only try his best. Former governor Kayode Fayemi tried his best. He increased workers’ salaries from N13,000 to N19,000, but now we have salary arrears. But in all, he did his best.”

Pastor Chris' daughter Rejects Him, Supports Mums on Divorce

A decision is set to be announced on the divorce suit filed by Anita Oyakhilome against her husband Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, the President of Christ Embassy church.

Funny enough, the couple’s first daughter Sharon Oyakhilome has decided to take sides, supporting her mum against her father, Pastor Chris. She took to Twitter to post a cryptic message which seemingly appears to support her mother’s divorce decision.
Her tweets appear to be similar to the case Rev. Anita Oyakhilome cited in the divorce papers where she stated that her husband had been away for the most part of their marriage.

In Defence of Anita Oyakhilome the FRustrated Wife:
“Anita Oyakhilome, the frustrated wife of Nigeria’s most flamboyant preacher, Chris Oyakhilome has obviously passed through 15 years of adulterous endurance and what she needs is our prayers and protective respect and defense of her choices to forget all the anti-rhapsody of heartbreak she endured all these years.

Fifteen (15) years of being abandoned by a preacher husband is not an easy way of lifefor a preacher’s wife. Fifteen (15) years of hearing that some mini skirted daughters of Jezebel have taken over your possession is not a joke. Fifteen years of a husband not staying with the wife for up to a week on a stretch, while spending time with some double breasted figure eight(ed) daughters of eve is not an easy thing to swallow. 15 years of being used as a showcase to make church members believe in Rhapsodies of Blissful Union, while dying in silence,is not a palatable experience for any woman.

Fifteen years of being called Mama, Mummy, and other glorified names of Senior Pastor’swife while some domestic harems sneer at the same Mummy behind is not a sweet experience. For goodness sake, this woman never probably had a good kiss in fifteen years and yet she is being accused of carnality for crying out loud. She was continually being led into temptation of seeking for s*xual satisfaction from outside for fifteen years and she managed to escape the traps of sin.

Fifteen years when their two lovely daughters would wake up and ask their mother why Dad had not cared to visit, and she would have to release a lie to stave off the frequent probing questions. Above all, fifteen years when Anita had to fake that all is well with their marriage, while she is actually dying emotionally. Every person she complained to among the pastoral cadre sided with the man, and she was left alone to bear her cross.

I warned some pastor friends with Christ Embassy early 2013 that they had better settle this marriage rift between Oga and his wife before it destroys the church. The same pastors have called me to express regret that a national embarrassment has ensued.

This woman has been called Jezebel by some pastors and members of the church. Some claimed she was disrespectful while others claimed she was always bitter of recent. They have tried to castigate her before members of the church who came in private to ask for the way out. She was described as unreasonable and insubordinate.

Her husband, according to news reports has even followed to cast her in bad light. According to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, “Bitterness is prolonged and accumulate danger. My wife is always angry and bitter,” Going further he told his members to “Be careful of the friends you keep. My wife keeps friends who bring out the worst in her and help her see the worst in people, instead of keeping friends that will help her vision, especially as the wife of a global pastor like me.”

Please, which preacher woman who has been abandoned for fifteen years will not be bitter and angry? Was Anita expected to clap and dance while some hot legs are parading around the White House?

This pastor’s wife was also disclaimed by her husband who told his congregants in reaction to the divorce saga that Anita is not necessarily a Woman of God.According to Pastor Oyakhilome “Don’t act like those people. If you are married to a man of God, it doesn’t make you automatically mature. You can make mistakes; you can do something that is wrong. But some people expect the wife of a minister to definitely be at the level of that minister and so they may be looked upon and the expectation may be like that, but it’s a positional thing”.He clarified his theory by saying that “If a man of God is married, it doesn’t automatically mean that the wife of a man of God is therefore a woman of God.

"That’s not the way it is in the Bible.” Pastor Chris also added that “That’s why you don’t really find the wives of men of God mentioned in the Bible. How many of them? Who was Peter’s wife, did you ever know her name? You never find that out. Who was John’s wife? Did you ever read the name? What about all theother Apostles? How many of their names are written in the Bible. You never find their names.”

Anita Oyakhilome actually proved that she has fear of God in the manner she worded her divorce plea. She opted to use the word “inappropriate relationship with female staff members” instead of out rightly accusing her husband of adultery.According to the statement, “the wife has discussed with the husband his appropriate relationship with some of his female staff members. She has explained that this has given her cause for concern. The husband has minimised her worries and taken no step to alleviate her grievances.”

Anita Oyakhilome could have said that her husband abandoned her and ran into the arms of sister A or B, or gospel singer C or D and left her roasting and murmuring in the house. Anita could have said that her husband is a hypocrite who says a thing and means another, but she veiled her grievances of years of abandonment by saying in the divorce file that “The wife feels that she has been used to portray and enhance the husband’s image as a family man when the reality is that there is no existing relationship between them. She feels that she has been present for official functions simply for his convenience.

On occasions she has been copied into his travel itinerary which has been given to him by his staff on a need to know basis”. “The wife has tried to discuss her concernswith the husband. He claims that she is carnal and he is insensitive to her feelings and her needs.”

Thus Anita had acted with much restraint in order to preserve the integrity of Christ Embassy and the work of evangelism, and all she got for her discretion was hate messages all many sections of church members who wanted her to sacrifice her marriage to keep them in a rhapsody of deceit.

This woman, according to the testimony of many British residents who attend their church, is one person who is always willing to give gifts to the needy. She is ever ready to counsel people and does not breed class. She is a patient listener who laboriously introduced many things in the church for which the glory goes to her husband. Londoners believe that she is not that demon theywant to portray her as. Those who know her closely have attested to an affectionate good naturedness and stickler for details.

Whatsoeverthing some misguided church members want to think, Anita had lived a lie formany years. Anita was said to have became born again at believers Loveworldcampus fellowship at Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, while Chris was thepastor. She had probably paid her dues as a Christian and knows what it is todeceive the congregation. She cannot deceive herself and the church anymorethus she opted for divorce. Divorce, according to scripture is unbiblical, but between deceiving a congregation that already knows the truth but pretends otherwise and staying in unfulfilled marriage, which is better. It is a matter between her and her conscience.

Last year, a Nigerian personality blogger by name Ese Walter was lured by her Senior Pastor in Abuja into a cozy hotel bed space in London and after two weeks of adultery, the man cleaned up, returned to Nigeria and told his congregation to shout some Hallelujah. The sin partner was arrested by the Holy Spirit and she sought a meeting with the COZA Chief to resolve the burden of guilt. She was continually shunned and described as agent of satan even by other senior pastors in the church until she turned the internet into the confessional. Ese Walter freed her conscience and probably escaped eternal damnation but the entire Christendom took the brunt of the exposure.

Anita has chosen to free herself from a life of deceit and lies. The truth had set her free. However, I still counsel her that if the misbehaving preacher husband demonstrates a verifiable change of heart, she should consider him back and so that somebody can shout some more Hallelujah. Fifteen years of adulterous endurance in the midst of charismatic rhapsody is not easy and Anita Oyakhilome sure needs all the defense and understanding she can get- Let somebody shout a better Hallelujah!”

REVEALED: Boko Haram to Release All Chibokgirls on Monday

Finally, there are strong indications that the 218 schoolgirls abducted six months ago in Chibok, Borno State, by the violent Boko Haram sect may be released on Monday following a ceasefire agreement the sect negotiators reached with the Federal Government.

The Government, through the Nigerian military, had on Friday said that it had agreed to a ceasefire with the heartless terrorists group and that the Chibok girls would soon be released. The deal was announced by the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh.

Nigerian military has struggled to defeat Boko Haram which began attack against Nigeria since 2009.

The President’s Principal Secretary, Hassan Tukur, told BBC Focus on Africa that an agreement to end the Boko Haram hostilities had been reached after talks with the violent group.
He said, “The Boko Haram members have assured us that they have the girls and that they will release them. I am cautiously optimistic.”

He said the agreement was reached after one month of negotiations in Saudi Arabia. The negotiation was said to have been headed by the Chadian President Idriss Deby.

Tukur said Boko Haram announced a unilateral ceasefire on Thursday and the government had responded.

Tukur and Danladi Ahmadu, who calls himself the Secretary-General of Boko Haram, told VOA’s Hausa service that the abducted girls would be released on Monday in Chad.

The girls are alive, “in good condition and unharmed,” Ahmadu said.

President Goodluck Jonathan has faced strong criticism over a deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, with villages in the North-East Borno State inaccessible due to the threat from Boko Haram.

The group had demanded the release of detained extremists in exchange for the schoolgirls.

The Defence Headquarters have directed all commanders to stop offensive against the Boko Haram sect.

The Chief of Defence Staff said he had directed his officers to comply with the ceasefire agreement.

Badeh said, “A ceasefire agreement has been concluded between the Federal Government and the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal Jihad (Boko Haram).”
Badeh added, “Without any prejudice to the outcome of our three days interactions, and the conclusions of this forum, I wish to inform this audience that a ceasefire agreement has been concluded between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Allul Sunna Li Daawa Waj Jihad.

“I have accordingly directed the service chiefs to ensure immediate compliance with this development in the field.”

I Dated A Rich President but He Broke My Heart —Ella Martins

In a revealing interview with Vanguard, Ella Martins, a top Beninoise musician and actress, who isn’t shy about the fact that she is well heeled in the rear and sees it as the weapon God bestowed on her, shared some personal stuffs and more. It's an interesting read:

Can you play a romantic role in a music video?
I can play a romantic role but how far I could go is dependent on the script. I can only show off my hips, not my br*asts.

Why not?
They are fragile and I keep them hidden.

Have you ever been heartbroken?
Yes, a president broke my heart. The relationship I had with the president is a long story. I fell in love with him because he was attentive and mature. In fact the relationship made me mature. It’s not easy dating a president. I am even working on a movie based on that experience. Since dating the president, I found it difficult to date an ordinary person.

What is your opinion on s*x before marriage?

S*x before marriage is good, because it helps you to know your partner.

Do you think flaunting s*x appeal is good for showbiz?
Sometimes it’s important. It has helped the likes of Beyonce and Kim Karadashian. They flaunt their sex appeals and it has paid off handsomely to their careers. I flaunt my s*x appeal from time to time. It’s the weapon God gave me.

Have you ever been embarrassed during a performance?
There are two accounts of most embarrassing moments as an artiste. First one was when I was performing with DJ Arafat and during the performance he stopped to kiss me. Second one was during a performance with Orezi. After the performance, the crowd carried me and tried to have a feel of my back side. I was really embarrassed. A lot of people think I did a surgery on my hips but I didn’t. A man once said he will give his life to touch my bum.

Which Nigerian musicians will you love to work with ?
I will love to work with Wizkid, Orezi and Runtown; they are all talented artistes.

What role may you find difficult to play in a movie?
I cannot go n*de in a movie and I won’t allow an actor touch my br*ast.

Pastor R*pes 19yrs old girl during spiritual cleansing (Pictured)

Pastor Anthony Arogunmasa, a popular preacher in Ikere-Ekiti has been arrested for alleged r*pe of a 19yrs old girl, who he is claiming is his girlfriend.

The tearful victim said the 29-year-old cleric lured her into his Araromi Street, Ikere-Ekiti residence under the pretence of giving her spiritual cleansing. In her words:
“I was just meeting the pastor for the first time in my life. He approached me and told me that I needed some spiritual cleansing. He said that God instructed him to ensure that the spiritual cleansing was done for me. I fell for him because I saw people calling him pastor.
"He took me to his house and gave me a candle and soap and asked me to start praying. He also brought out certain objects which he said were prayer items for the spiritual cleansing. In the course of the prayers, he asked me to remove my clothing and just tie a wrapper and I obliged. It wasn’t long after that he suddenly jumped on me and eventually had carnal knowledge of me forcefully...

Pastor Anthony Arogunmasa
Though the young pastor confessed to having carnal knowledge of the victim, the suspect said that the girl is his girlfriend. He said, "It is true that I slept with her on September 23, but I didn’t do it forcefully because she has always been my girlfriend”

But according to the Police PRO said, the pastor is lieing.
“We have proved that it is a clear case of r*pe. We have a medical proof and during our investigation, we discovered that the victim couldn’t have been a girlfriend to the suspect as he (pastor) claims. You can imagine that he doesn’t know the names of the lady, nor where she lives or any of her friends or relations and he claims to be the lady’s boyfriend. How is that possible?

"Medical report confirmed the victim was actually r*ped by the suspect while preliminary investigation has also revealed that he is a serial rapist who lures hapless women with ‘spiritual cleansing’ to have unlawful canal knowledge of them.
"He will be charged to court as soon as investigation into the case in concluded.”

Why Jonathan may Lose As Incumbent President in 2015

For those who are upbeat about the chances of the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan winning re-election if he decides to run, I have bad news for them. The President may not only lose in 2015, he could lose by a landslide even with the incumbency factor perceived to be in his favour. Let’s even consider a massive defeat of an incumbent impossibility; he could still be edged out by a narrow margin.
Indeed all evidence point to the first shocking defeat of an incumbent in a presidential election in the country. For the first time ever, it seems the incumbency effect may not matter. While I acknowledge the usual arguments about the incumbent advantage; 2015 may yet prove to be an exception.

Why do I think so? If the supporters of the President can just sit back and remove the scale of sycophancy from their eyes and honestly assess the situation in the country, they will see that in a free and fair election, the President does not stand a chance. I think they may be in for a rude shock.
Those who fancy an easy win for Jonathan may have failed to appreciate the enormity of the challenges stacked against his re-election...
But supporters of the administration seem to have been living in denial all this while. For them the President’s victory is a foregone conclusion. Not quite. Their optimism seems buoyed by the gale of endorsements by some phony groups and intimidated Peoples Democratic Party governors who seem not to have any choice anyway. Supporters of the administration have also trumpeted what they considered to be some achievements of the President. But it appears the so-called achievements are known only to them alone. As for Nigerians, it has been a case of the more you look, the less you see when it comes to assessing this administration. In the ultimate decider will be Nigerian voters.

Despite the huge arsenal of funds and state machinery at the disposal of the Jonathan presidency, politics and life often have other plans. This is what recent elections have taught us. The reality is, incumbents can be defeated. It may happen in 2015 – in a few months from now, President Jonathan will find out whether he will be keeping his job. For most voters, their choice will ultimately come down to how they expect either a new president or Jonathan to run the affairs of our country in the next four years. Unfortunately for Jonathan, he does not seem to have much of a presidential record, and a review of it leaves little doubt that Nigerians may want to fire him.

Let me make it clear for people reading this, especially supporters of this administration, the laziest thing will be to dismiss my thoughts as the ranting of a hater of the President or an opposition hatchet job. Far from it, I am completely apolitical. One does not need a crystal ball to see the realities of why President Jonathan should be preparing his handover note. Or shouldn’t he? Here are my reasons. The first is in the changing demographics. Increasingly as we progress in our democratic experience, it is becoming clear that it is the voters that will ultimately determine the fate of candidates.

In the past, defeating incumbents was unthinkable. Incumbents held what proverbialy could be called the yam and the knife – but not anymore. We have the situation where sitting Presidents deploy state machinery to induce and coerce all electoral institutions. In recent governorship elections incumbents have been beaten while some held on to their post by a thin margin. It is no longer easy to steal the people’s mandate. Now if elections are not won by ballot, one can be sure the courts will overturn any stolen mandate. The trend will surely continue in 2015. If the situation persists, President Jonathan may be Nigeria’s first one-term President. Not even the rallies being held across the country in support of the President may help the re-election.
In 2015, the President will be assessed by his performance in the last five years. A look at history has shown that if President Jonathan loses, he will not be the first incumbent to do so. There have been nearly a dozen one term Presidents who ran for second terms but were denied by voters, in the United States, for example, there have been three one-term presidents since World War II. The most recent one-term president who lost his re-election bid was George H.W. Bush, a Republican who lost to Democrat Bill Clinton in 1992. Republican George H.W. Bush was the 41st President of the United States, serving from 1989 to 1993.

He lost a campaign for re-election in 1992 to Democrat, Bill Clinton. Bush’s official White House biography describes his re-election loss this way: “Despite unprecedented popularity from this military and diplomatic triumph, Bush was unable to withstand discontent at home from a faltering economy and continued high deficit spending.’’ Though some of the one-term US presidents lost due to the prevailing economic, political and social factors of their time; those factors will pale into insignificance when juxtaposed with the failures of the Jonathan presidency. If any of the US presidents had been Jonathan, they would not have even made the mid-term election as they would have been impeached. Unfortunately, we have legislative arms that are largely part of the rot.

But in spite of ongoing propaganda, Nigerians seem to have become wiser—more discerning. They may express their displeasure with this administration in 2015. I have written in this column that the next election may yet be a protest vote by a people tired of this administration’s arrogance, contempt and disdain for their welfare as a people. What will be the greatest obstacle in the path of Jonathan’s re-election is his attitude to corruption. Needless to say that Nigerians have become embarrassed by how corruption scandals at home and abroad have taken a toll on their country’s reputation.

What is worse is Jonathan’s denial of corruption as the cause of our underdevelopment. In several public statements, the President had declared, much to the bewilderment of Nigerians, that corruption is not Nigeria’s problem. The President must know that Nigerians are seriously angry about his ‘body language’ to corruption when allegations of corruption continue to taint his government. This President has too much baggage going into an election year. They will certainly hurt his re-election chances.

For example, Nigerians are scandalised by the President’s refusal to probe the ongoing cash-for-arm scandals rocking his administration. That he has continued to maintain silence even as these allegations continue to taint the integrity of his administration is unnerving to Nigerians. Meanwhile, under this administration, all the agencies meant to fight corruption have also gone comatose. Perhaps it is not a coincidence that this is happening under his Presidency. The lack of leadership and the damage inflicted on Nigerians living in the North-East by the administration’s delay to confront growing insecurity has had its attendant consequences. The President is going into the election as a largely unpopular candidate. Can Nigerians afford four more years of Jonathan? Something tells me that we may have seen the last of the Jonathan’s presidency. I will be surprised if he is re-elected.

Asari Opens Up on Alleged Involvement in the Smuggled $9.3m

Since the APC alleged the possibility that ex-Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo was among those that was caught with the smuggled $9.3million in South Africa, many have been waiting to hear from him.

Speaking from his current base in Saudi Arabia, Asari denies involvement in the deal. He said:
“Can you enter any country without a visa? No person can enter any country without a visa. Presently, I am in Saudi Arabia performing my Hajj as the Amirul Hajj of Bayelsa State and this can be confirmed. I flew Flynass from Kaduna on September 27.
"So, it is really a shame that Lai Mohammed who has defiled the name of Allah has become a pathological and award-winning liar.
“Nobody enters any country without a visa and I have not been to South Africa since 2002. I flew Arik airline from Lagos on the September 27 and went to Kaduna where I flew Flynass airline and came to Saudi Arabia.”

TERRIBLE: Prophet made Husband Kill his own Wife in Lagos

I Butchered My Wife As Advised By A Prophet, Ismail Yakubu Confesses To Police in Lagos
If Mrs. Silifat Yakubu had known that her husband and father of her three sons would callously butcher her to death, she would have probably had a second thought about their marriage.

Silifat was allegedly killed by her husband, Ismail Yakubu, at Igbele, near Araromi Ale Olorunda area along the Badagry Expressway in Lagos.

Although details surrounding the death of Iya Lugo, as Silifat was popularly called, are still sketchy, it was however gathered that the mutilated body of the deceased was found in a small river located at the community’s entrance, where she was supposedly dumped after she was murdered.

According to an eyewitness, some of the victim’s body parts, such as her eyes, breasts and uterus,
were missing when her corpse was found, suggesting she had been murdered for ritual.
A neighbour, Iya Korede said: “Most of the people in the area do not know her husband because he goes early to work and comes back late. But his wife is a very hard working woman. She built the house they live in. As if that was not enough, she bought a commercial bus for him. What else does he want? If he was tired of the marriage, he should have driven her away instead of killing her...

Narrating what he saw, one Ambimbola Sule, a commercial motorcyclist in the area, said: “Residents in the community woke up on Saturday morning to find the lifeless body of a woman inside the river that leads into Igbele.

Initially, people could not identify the person because her face had several cuts. She was wearing a lace gown, with no under wears.”

It was also learnt that since the incident involved the loss of life, community leaders had to involve the police from Area K Command, who began investigation into the incident.

While investigating the case, the police arrested several persons, many of whom had since been released.

According to reports, the deceased’s husband, who was arrested on Sunday, confessed to killing his wife on Friday night because a prophet told him she was using his star.

He purportedly dumped the corpse in the river at night, after his attempts to take her far away failed because his bus developed fault.

The neighbour, Iya Korede, who lives near the victim’s shop, noted that Silifat was jovial, hardworking and troubled no one.

She also described the deceased as a trader who sold household utensils in her container shop, located a few blocks from hers.

She added: “The world is truly a wicked place. How can a man kill his own wife? The same woman who bore him three male children, for goodness sake? It is only God that will save us.”

A member of the Landlord Association said: “We do not know what this community has become. Just as we are still lamenting the gruesome murder of this woman, armed robbers struck last night.

“At present, residents are living in fear. Once it is 7p.m., you will not find anyone outside. And this is affecting our business.

“Lagos State government and relevant authorities should please come to our aid before things get out of hand.”

While confirming the reports, Police PRO, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, stated that the suspect was currently in police custody and had made confessional statements that he actually committed the crime.

Why Celebrity Marriages are Crashing; actor Chigozie Atuanya

Nollywood actor Chigozie Atuanya, who got married in August 2013, thinks he has an idea why many celeb marriages can't stand the test of time, thus crashing. In a chat with Nigeria Films, he said:
"First of all, it is good to have God as a good foundation. With him as the solid rock that holds your home, it would surely last. Then tolerance is another strong point to attain a peaceful home. Marriage is a combination of two different people, from different backgrounds who came together to live as one. Sometimes, we have to learn to overlook. In as much as the women are the pillars of a home, we the men too have lots to contribute.

"My wife has this American mentality, she doesn’t pay attention to the rumours people keep spreading, she just trusts me. You don’t say all you hear or keep monitoring your spouse without an atom of trust. Marriage failures are everywhere, not just in the entertainment industry, but if husbands and wives would jointly pull forces to make their marriages work, it would.”

How Beheaded Air Force Pilot killed 63 Boko Haram members

Friends and colleagues of Wing Commander Chimda Hedima, who was reportedly beheaded by Boko Haram, have given a vivid account of how the Air Force pilot spent his last days.

Hedima, who was showered with praises by thousands of Nigerians on Saturday, reportedly kept a dignified composure in the face of death in the hands of Abubakar Shekau and his heartless boys.

Hedima’s colleagues on different social media on Saturday said the gallant man, who was born in 1975, crashed the aircraft into an area where Boko Haram militants were and killed at least 63 of the insurgents. On the Facebook page of the Nigerian Army Support Group, his friends wrote:
“It is with deep regret that we announce the death of a true Nigerian hero, Wing Commander Chimda Hedima. This man was a hero of the highest order.
“On September 11, 2014, a company of Nigerian Army soldiers attempted to overrun a Boko Haram position in Borno. Due to the low altitude, the plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists’ gunfire.
“Wing Commander Hedima and his partner realised that they were going to crash...
“They, instead of hurriedly parachuting to safety within Nigerian controlled territory, chose to embark on a mission to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but not before ensuring that their plane slammed into a column of terrorists in which 63 Boko Haram members were killed as a result of their bravery.

“Wing Commander Hedima was captured. On September 12, he was killed.

“He chose Nigeria, he chose all of us. We cannot forget him. Please share his story. His name should be known by everyone.

“Rest in peace Commander, we are grateful. May you find eternal peace.”

Before reporting the beheading of Hedima, French news agency, Agence France-Presse, had reported that it was in possession of a Boko Haram video that showed that Abubakar Shekau, a leader of the sect, was still alive.

This came a few days after the military’s Director of Information, Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, said Shekau had been killed early September in Kodunga, Borno State. The military had also shown photographs that it claimed showed the corpse of Shekau.

But Shekau, in the video, described as propaganda the claim by the Defence Headquarters that he had been killed. While claiming responsibility for shooting down an Air Force jet, the video also showed the beheading of the pilot.

His brother, Parry Hedima, wrote on his Facebook page that Hedima’s shoes were too big to fill. He said, “There is a big shoe to fill. Lord I need your feet.”

One of Hedima’s friends, Musa Salmanu, also described him as a hero. May his soul rest in peace!

Dirty Secrets of actress Ini Edo's Marriage and Cheating

Nothing hides forever, hence it's good for people to just be careful. This is messy, not palatable to the ears at all. Following Ini Edo's post on her twitter page confirming her marriage break up with her husband of 5 years and her claim that she never cheated on him, the relatives of her ex-husband have responded to her claims. They say Ini Edo is a liar and also a serial cheat; with instances. Details below:
A close family source who is related to Philip spoke to a source on the condition of anonymity:
"Ini Edo should shut up about the marriage crash because with the way she is going by trying to paint Phillip as the wrong party, we may be forced to open her can of worms and it will not be palatable to her and her career.
"I can tell you that Ini Edo is a serial cheat who played the field behind her husband’s back for the duration of their marriage. Is she going to deny she was dating one Island big boy whose girlfriend organized her friends to beat her up and injured her?"
Another family source gave his own account:
"Bros, I can tell you that Ini Edo is not as innocent as she is trying to make people believe or think. We caught her on more than three occasion with three different men and she always begged us to forgive her.
"We can even mention some of the men she had affairs with including a South-South governor whose wife embarrassed her and ordered her security to send her out of the governor’s guest house in the state capital
"She should dare us and we will mention the name of the governor on the pages of newspapers."
Another source, a close friend of Phillip also added his voice to the contentious issue:
"Did she tell you how Phillip embarrassed her in front of her people when he went to collect his bride price? He told her people the kind of adulterous daughter they have and how she had been cheating on him right from the first day they were married.
"In fact, he did not want to collect the bride price but her people begged him to collect it as that would free her to get married to another man in the future."

- Ini Edo should be quiet if these allegations are true; those who live in glass house don't throw stones.
